About Us
Hook Elementary has an amazing staff of fourteen teachers, three intervention specialists, a reading specialist, a gifted teacher, four intervention assistants, a librarian, a music teacher, a P.E. teacher, and an art teacher. We have a nurse and a full-time counselor on staff. We offer mental health counseling on-site, along with speech, OT, and PT. We have a diverse student population and have daily intervention blocks in both reading and math for every child! We offer the only after-school S.T.E.A.M. Club in Troy City Schools. We have Hook Houses so that every child is connected to other adults and children in the building, and to learn about character traits. We also have a Future Begins Today Leadership Club, Lunch Buddies, Select Singers, Student Council, and Safety Patrol. We consistently score well on state and district assessments! Troy City Schools is currently building a brand-new elementary school on the grounds of Hook Elementary, which will only make us bigger and better, without changing the culture of the Trojan Way (Together, Resilient, Own It, You Matter!)

Principal’s Message
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
Welcome to Hook Elementary! I absolutely love this community and town. In fact, I went all the way through Troy City Schools! My great-grandfather was the Chief of Police, and the first song I learned as a child from my grandma was the Troy Alma Mater. I have been the Principal of Hook Elementary for seventeen years. I am a graduate of Wright State University and the University of Dayton. I am kindergarten certified and have taught preschool, first, second, third, fourth, and sixth grades. I am a National Board Certified Teacher as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I also have a specialty in Early Childhood Development. I have also taught in Colorado, Florida, California, and Ohio! I am married and have three grown children and a granddaughter, with another on the way! I have always told parents that I am a parent and grandparent first and a principal second, so looking at children through the eyes of a parent makes me very protective of your children! Safety is our number one priority, both physically and mentally. Thank you for trusting us with your children every day! Please know that you can reach out to me anytime at school by calling, emailing, or sending a Dojo message! I look forward to a fantastic year!
